Glassnode Launches USDC Pay-Per-Request Data Access For AI Agents On Base

Glassnode, the on-chain data analytics platform, has launched pay-per-request access to its Advanced crypto data metrics for AI agents, with payments processed in USDC on the Base network. The new access method eliminates the need for an API key or a subscription, allowing AI agents to query Glassnode's data on demand and pay only for what they use. The announcement, made in October 2025, marks a notable shift in how institutional-grade on-chain data is distributed to automated systems.

Glassnode has not disclosed a fixed per-request price for the new pay-per-request access model. The pricing structure remains usage-based, with payments settled in USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin, on the Base network — Coinbase's Ethereum layer-2 solution. This choice of settlement rail suggests low transaction fees and fast finality, making microtransactions economically viable for high-frequency data requests.

The announcement specifies that pay-per-request access covers Glassnode's Advanced metrics, which represent the platform's deeper, more granular on-chain data sets. However, Glassnode has not published a definitive list of which specific Advanced metrics are available through this new access method. The company's Advanced tier typically includes indicators such as realized capitalization, MVRV ratios, SOPR, exchange flows, miner positions, and various valuation models that go beyond basic price and volume data.

The launch of pay-per-request data access has direct implications for the growing ecosystem of AI agents operating in crypto. Agents that perform market analysis, generate trading signals, or produce research reports can now integrate Glassnode's Advanced metrics without negotiating enterprise contracts or managing subscription budgets.
