The formal investigation measure, known in French law as "mise en examen," was confirmed by officials familiar with the case, marking a significant escalation from preliminary police inquiries.

The victims of the attack are a mother, a father, and their 10-year-old child, all of whom were present in the home during the invasion. The family was subjected to restraint and the use of the electric-shock device, with the child also caught up in the terrifying ordeal.

The total value of the cryptocurrency ultimately targeted was approximately €100, a strikingly small sum given the extreme violence employed. The use of an electric-shock device, classified as a weapon under French law, elevates the case from a standard robbery to one involving aggravated circumstances.
